What is BritainBet?

britainbet

Where BritainBet differs from most of the betting sites you may be familiar with is that they are run by ProgressPlay, a “white label” platform that provides all the main technical elements of a sportsbook but allows a company to add their branding and market it as their own.

A quick look at the ProgressPlay roster shows that the vast majority of sites under their umbrella are casino offerings, so it remains to be seen in this BritainBet review whether they can transfer that expertise to a sportsbook.

Unsurprisingly, BritainBet does have a casino element but for the purpose of this review we will be concentrating solely on sports betting. And with a decent range of BritainBet promotions, one of the largest range of sports we’ve ever seen, as well as virtual sports and a number of politics and entertainment markets, at first glance, it looks like BritainBet are trying to make a big splash.

Is BritainBet Safe?

As part of our BritainBet review we have taken a good look at site safety and security and we’re pleased to report that BritainBet passes the test as not only is ProgressPlay licensed by the Malta Gaming Authority and the UK Gambling Commission, but they also work with the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council to make transactions as secure as possible.

All personal details are fully encrypted with multiple servers used to ensure the protection of sensitive information. And while data is in transit, BritainBet also utilizes the latest 128-bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption technology to ensure that sensitive data is transferred securely over the internet to their protected servers.

Responsible Gambling

The responsible gambling section of the BritainBet site has an impressive array of information, including tips about how to manage your betting, protection of minors, as well as a number of links to all the major professional organisations that you can turn to if gambling is becoming more than just an enjoyable pastime.

Bettors can also impose daily, weekly and monthly deposit limits, as well as session time limits, time outs and self exclusions. There’s also a reality check option, where a message will appear after a preset period of time informing you of the amount of time you have been playing for. You will then have the option to continue playing or to stop.

We were also impressed to see links included to internet filtering software that can prevent access to gambling sites altogether, which we haven’t always seen on other betting sites.

BritainBet Promotions

New sites that don’t necessarily have the budget for advertising or Brand Ambassadors often rely heavily on new customer offers to entice punters, so as part of our BritainBet review we have taken a good look at all of their opening deals. The main BritainBet welcome bonus rewards bettors with a £10 BritainBet free bet just for depositing £10, which is a welcome change from most sportsbooks, where you must place a wager in order to receive the benefit.

If your first wager using your BritainBet free bet is successful then you will need to wager those winnings ten times before you will be able to withdraw them. Profits from the free bet bonus will also be capped at £20 and all of this action must take place within seven days or you will lose all bonus winnings altogether.

However, that’s not the only BritainBet offer on display as there are a number of BritainBet promotions relating to specific sports which we have outlined below, as well as a generous BritainBet casino bonus for new customers.

As ever there are some key terms and conditions to look out for when you take advantage of the BritainBet free bet, with the primary one being that customers who deposit using Skrill will not be eligible, so we’d recommend a debit card deposit. And we would also highly recommend checking out the T’s & C’s relating to each offer before you sign up.

Every offer besides the main sportsbook and casino deals also came with an expiry date, so some of the deals below are the ones available at the time of writing this article and will expire in due course. However, we’re confident in predicting they will be replaced with other existing customer deals.

BritainBet offer Offer description Wager requirement Min qualify odds Offer expiry Min deposit
Free Bet Deposit £10 Get £10 10x 1.5 / 1/2 7 days £1o
Football Cashback 10% of your deposit losses on football refunded  N/A N/A 7 days £1o
Cricket Cashback Bet £25 on cricket and get a £10 free bet 10x N/A N/A £1o

Basketball Cashback 10% of your deposit losses on basketball refunded  N/A N/A N/A £1o

BritainBet Casino 200% bonus up £50 50x N/A 30 days £20

When it comes to existing customer deals we could only find one on the BritainBet sportsbook, but it certainly is an intriguing one. It’s essentially a rewards store where you earn points for completing tasks which can then be redeemed for free bets, free spins and other goodies. Those points will also cause you to “Level Up” every so often which will bring extra rewards.

We’ve broken the offer down below and our thoughts are that it’s a novel idea that adds an extra element to your betting experience with bonuses that are certainly achievable to your average bettor. However, we don’t agree with the inclusion of casino tasks because it means that players who don’t bet on those types of games can’t get the full benefit of the offer.

  • Rewards Store – Click on the trophy button at the top of the home page to access the rewards section , where you can see which level you have reached along with the missions you need to complete to earn points, such as placing your first live bet or wagering at least £5 on a casino game. You can also see what you can spend those points on, but don’t forget you should always check the full terms and conditions.

BritainBet Review

Now it’s time to bring you the results of hours of research and real-life wagering, as we outline all the major features of the BritainBet site.

Which Sports Can I Bet On With BritainBet?

The biggest compliment we can give to the range of sports at BritainBet is that even experienced bettors such as ourselves found some games that we had never seen before such as Bandy (similar to ice hockey but with a ball instead of a puck) and Floorball (pretty much like Bandy but indoors).

At the time of writing, we found a whopping 36 different sports, as well as an impressive range of E-Sports including League of Legends, Counter-Strike, Rainbow Six, Warcraft 3, Brawl Stars, Valorant and DOTA 2. There’s also a good number of worldwide political markets and of course the old favourites Strictly and Dancing On Ice!

However, we wouldn’t say that finding your chosen sport was easy as the main sports betting landing page consists of a giant bonus advertisement and little else, and you need to scroll down to find the betting markets. And we reckon that most people will waste their time clicking “Sports” at the top, which actually does nothing as you are already on that page!

On the sports markets section of the home page, you will be able to find the event you wish to wager on by clicking on the list icon on the left-hand side and then clicking through to the match you are interested in. Or if you know the specific team or individual you wish to bet on you can just type that into the search box, which is always a useful addition!

You can also change the way the site is laid out by clicking above the bet slip, which is a nice touch. You can select between classic, modern, or a combination of the two, as you can see below. For this review we’ll be using the classic layout but we would encourage you to try all three and see which works best for you.

This is a great feature but our only slight criticism is that it is very easy to miss this option as it is hidden away above the bet slip rather than featuring prominently on the home page.

When it comes to the range of football markets we reckon punters will find everything they need at BritainBet, with over 100 outcomes to pick from in the big league and cup matches at home and abroad and a competitive range of markets on the UK lower leagues.

We’re not just concentrating on football though, so we had a look at some other popular sports such as golf, boxing, cricket and American football. And while we were generally impressed with the range of markets, we would sound a note of caution for golf fans as the range of betting options was poor in comparison to most of the other sportsbooks we have encountered.

BritainBet Odds and Value

As is the case with many of the new sportsbooks, after comparing odds with their major rivals on a number of different sports we found BritainBet to be middle of the road in that they were rarely industry-leading but never at the bottom of the class either. However, a lack of odds boosts is a shame, as is the absence of “best odds guaranteed” offers, which are a staple of most other sportsbooks.

Odds at BritainBet can be viewed in fractional, decimal and American formats, along with the less well-known pricing styles of Hong Kong, Malay and Indo.

Bet Limits

The minimum wager at BritainBet is £0.20, while the maximum amount varies depending on the price.  After looking at a range of 10 sports we discovered that the maximum win from any bet varied from wager to wager but was generally between the £2,000 & £7,000 mark, which is plenty for most but may put off some of the high rollers or those looking for that life-changing acca win!

In Play Betting

When it comes to in play betting it’s clear that BritainBet has prioritised their live offering as we found an impressive amount of sports to bet on at all times of the day and night, with over 100 markets on average across at least 10 sports. There are also a number of extra features that we haven’t seen on many other sportsbooks, including the option to create your own live “Multi View” in the centre of the screen with up to four live events.

And there’s even a handy calendar to see exactly what is coming up in the hours and days ahead.

Live Streaming

At the time of writing this BritainBet review, live streaming is not an option, but we found that every sport that you can bet on in play had a graphic showing the latest score, and when it came to football there was a live animation showing events as they happened, along with key stats such as shots on target, bookings and corner kicks.

BritainBet Cash out & Other Features

Cash out is available on many of the markets at BritainBet, which is a popular feature for punters who may want to settle their wagers before an event has finished. You just need to click on “My Bets” on the right-hand side of the home page and then if your bet is eligible you will see a green dollar sign next to it which is clickable.

You can also set your bet to auto cashout if it reaches a certain amount in play, which is a nice addition that we haven’t seen at many other sportsbooks.

Customer service

In our humble opinion, a betting site that offers 24/7 wagering should also provide customer service at any time, and we are pleased to report that as well as being contactable via email, the BritainBet support team are available via live chat seven days a week at all hours of the day.

Clicking on the speech bubble icon at the top of the screen will bring up the BritainBet Support Centre, where you may well be able to find the answer to your question, but if not you can click on the “Chat With Us” button at the bottom of the page. A chatbot will be the first “voice” you encounter but you can soon send your virtual friend packing and speak to a real person within a minute if you so desire.

How to Get Started at BritainBet

Signing up to BritainBet is a very simple process with very few clicks needed, and a new account can be registered in just a couple of minutes. The following step by step guide explains just how punters can sign up at the BritainBet sportsbook:

Step1: Visit BritainBet

With no mobile app available the only way to sign up to BritainBet is by visiting their home page on your computer or mobile device.

Step 2: Sign Up

Click the “PLAY NOW” button to open the first of three forms where you will be required to enter your email address, telephone number and your desired username. After that, you need to have your phone handy as there is an extra layer of security where a code will be sent that you need to input on the next form, and then it’s time to fill in your full name, date of birth, address, occupation, the currency you wish to bet in and your marketing preferences.

Step 3: Verify Account

When we signed up we weren’t asked to provide any additional verification such as a driving license or passport, which wasn’t a surprise as not all sportsbooks request it, and it’s not necessarily a bad thing as it reduced the amount of time from signing up to placing our first bet. However, some bettors might worry about the fact that the site lacks that extra level of security.

Step 3: Deposit Funds

You have the option to deposit as part of the registration process but if you choose not to, when you’re ready to fund your account and take advantage of the BritainBet offer for the first time you just need to log in and click on “Cashier” at the top of the screen. Select the “Deposit” option, before entering the amount you wish to add and then you can input your bank card details or login to your chosen e-wallet account. And don’t forget you need to deposit at least £10 to take advantage of the BritainBet welcome bonus.

Step 4: Place Bets

It may seem at first glance like the layout of BritainBet is quite cluttered, but we actually found placing a wager to be really easy. Once you click on a particular sport on the far left hand side the specific matches will appear right next to it and then once you click on an event all the markets will be to the right of that.

Then you just need to click on the price of the outcome you wish to wager on and it will appear on the bet slip on the far right of the screen. You can then add your stake and click “Place Bets”.

However, it’s when you want to place a multiple bet within a specific sport that the BritainBet site really comes into its own because there’s no need to go back and forth between pages to find different matches. Everything just stays on screen and you can click between different matches and markets with ease.

Step 5: Withdraw Winnings

If you want to withdraw your winnings just click on “Cashier” at the top of the home page, click on “Withdrawal” and then pick which payment method you wish to credit your withdrawal to, add the amount and click “Withdrawal”. The minimum amount is £10 and you can withdraw to Visa debit cards, bank transfer, Paypal, Neteller or Skrill.

Withdrawals are subject to a £2.50 processing fee which is a massive negative in our book, not only because very few betting sites charge their customers to withdraw their winnings, but due to the fact that the amount is set and not a percentage. So if you withdrew £10 you would lose 25% of it!  We also worry that bettors will be discouraged from withdrawing small amounts and will end up placing more bets when they didn’t necessairly want to.

Another negative is that every withdrawal begins life as “pending” for three days, then it’s another day to process and anything from 1-7 days to hit your account, meaning you could feasibly be waiting 11 days to see your winnings, which is far too long in our book.

BritainBet App

There is no BritainBet app and when we asked customer support whether there were any plans to create one, they were unable to tell us. And looking at their sportsbook on your mobile device is a bit of a mixed bag because while navigation is relatively easy, the ever-present ticker showing advertisements that you constantly have to scroll beyond becomes a bit tiresome!

BritainBet Bonus Code

If you want to qualify for the “Deposit £10, Get £10” BritainBet welcome bonus there is currently no need to enter a BritainBet bonus code. However, some of their sports-specific welcome bonuses do require a code so it’s always worth checking their promotions page for more details.

And many other sportsbook offers do require promo codes, with the following being a selection of offers that can be found currently at some of the leading UK betting sites.

BritainBet Pros & Cons

Our in-depth look at BritainBet has enabled us to create an in-depth list of what we like and what we don’t like, so you can make as informed a decision as possible if you’re thinking of starting your BritainBet journey.

What We Like:

  • Range of Markets – There are a huge range of pre-match and in play markets, an impressive E-Sports offering and a good selection of non-sporting options.
  • In Play Excellence – A strong range of martkets and extra in play features make this one of the better live offerings.
  • Easy Acca Creation – The layout of the classic site makes creating accas a breeze as there is no need to navigate to different pages to find your next selection.
  • Layout Flexibility – Being able to pick from three different layouts to suit your personal preference is a nice touch.

What We Don’t Like:

  • Withdrawal Fees – When most other sportsbooks do not penalise punters for withdrawing their winnings it’s a real negative that BritainbBet charges £2.50 for each and every withdrawal.
  • Mobile Issues – There’s no app and viewing the sportsbook on your mobile device is made more difficult by the constant presence of an advert ticker that takes up more than half of the screen.
  • Withdrawal Times – A withdrawal system of three days pending, one day processing and anything up to seven days to transfer means you can sometimes be waiting 11 days to see your winnings.

Bottom Line on BritainBet

As the latest new sportsbook on the betting block, BritainBet needed to make a good impression. And while they do get a lot of things right, the positive elements of the site are counter-balanced by the fact that they charge £2.50 for each and every withdrawal.

If you’re willing to accept that penalty there’s a good betting experience waiting for you at BritainBet which we suggest you check out, with a huge range of markets, a user-friendly interface, some unique features, a great live offering and the ability to change the layout to suit your personal taste.

However, with so many sites offering similarly strong experiences without charging you to access your winnings, it’s hard to wholeheartedly recommend one that does.
