The Bet Storm online bookmaker proudly proclaims that “Lightning Can Strike Twice”, which may refer to the chances of winning more than one wager or perhaps the fact that this new sportsbook is one of three that have been launched by gaming platform ProgressPlay since 2020! In this Bet Storm review we will take a thorough look at their online sportsbook, covering all the features that matter most to punters before deciding whether they are a superstorm or a damp squib!

Bet Storm are owned by ProgressPlay, a “white label” platform that provides all of the technology that powers a modern sportsbook but enables a betting site to add their own brand identity and create a site unique to them.
ProgressPlay made their name with a large roster of casino sites but look to be making a strong move into the sports betting sphere, with Bet Storm mirroring their sister sportsbooks by having a large casino offering. However, in this review we won’t be touching on the Bet Storm Casino as much and concentrating on the sportsbook.
In this Bet Storm review we will outline whether they can effectively juggle an online sportsbook and casino without compromising their sports betting offering, starting with one of the most important factors for punters.
As part of our Bet Storm review we have taken a good look at site safety and security and we’re happy to report that not only are their parent company ProgressPlay licensed by the Malta Gaming Authority and the UK Gambling Commission, they also work with the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council to make transactions as secure as possible.
All personal details are fully encrypted with multiple servers used to ensure the protection of sensitive information. And while data is in transit, Bet Storm also utilises the latest 128-bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption technology to ensure that sensitive data is transferred securely over the internet to their protected servers.
We have to give ProgressPlay a lot of credit as each of their sportsbooks has an extensive responsible gambling section. And Bet Storm is no different, with tips about how to manage your betting, how to ensure children aren’t exposed to gambling sites, as well as a number of links to all the major professional organisations that you can turn to if betting is becoming an issue.
Bettors can also impose daily, weekly and monthly deposit limits, as well as session time limits, time outs and self exclusions. There’s also a reality check option, where a message will appear after a preset period of time informing you of the amount of time you have been playing for. You will then have the option to continue playing or to stop.
We were also happy to see links to software that can prevent access to gambling sites altogether, which aren’t always included in the responsible gambling sections of other sportsbooks.
And another big plus was when we signed up at Bet Storm we instantly received an email about responsible gambling, which we haven’t seen from any sportsbook before, so kudos to them for setting their stall out nice and early when it comes to encouraging bettors to gamble responsibly.
The Bet Storm welcome bonus is an enticing one as bettors can benefit from a “Bet £10, get £30” promotion.
However, qualifying for the Bet Storm free bet is subject to a number of terms and conditions, so as part of our Bet Storm review we have scanned the small print to bring you headlines, but we would also highly recommend checking out the T’s & C’s relating to this and every other offer before you sign up.
The first thing you need to remember is to activate your account from your registered email before you deposit and place your first wager. Customers who deposit using Skrill will not be eligible, so we’d recommend a debit card deposit, and don’t forget to use the code BET30.
Your first bet needs to be at odds of 1.5 or more, which is 1/2 in fractional odds and once that is placed you will receive your £30 Bet Storm free bet, which will need to be used all at once and bet 10 times before you will be able to withdraw any winnings. However, that doesn’t mean you have to place 10 separate wagers, you just have to bet a total of £300.
However, even if you manage to turn your Bet Storm free bet into much more than the initial £30, the most you’ll be able to walk away with is £20. And don’t forget that all of this betting action will need to take place within seven days or the bonus will expire.
When it comes to other Bet Storm promotions, the main Bet Storm welcome bonus is not the only new offer available as there are a number of deals relating to specific sports which we have outlined below, as well as a generous Bet Storm casino bonus for new customers.
However, the main point to note here is that every one of the Bet Storm offers, besides the main sportsbook and casino deals, also came with an expiry date, so some of the Bet Storm promotions below were available at the time of writing but will expire in due course. However, we’re confident in predicting they will be replaced with other existing customer deals.

When it came to existing customer deals we could only find one on the Bet Storm sportsbook, but it’s a unique offer where you earn points for completing tasks which can then be redeemed for free bets, free spins and other goodies. Those points will also cause you to “Level Up” every so often which will bring extra rewards.
We liked this feature as it added a task-based video game element to our betting experience which made it more immersive and enjoyable, and the bonuses being achievable for your average bettor was a plus too.
However, we don’t agree with the inclusion of casino tasks because it means that punters who stay away from casino games can’t get the full benefit of the deal and also it might encourage people to play that wouldn’t normally.
Now it’s time to outline all of the major site features in the next part of our Bet Storm review, with a particular focus on the range of sporting markets on offer and how to place a pre-game and in play bet.
The range of sports at Bet Storm is hugely impressive with the most popular betting events side by side with the more niche sports such as Field Hockey, Rugby 7’s, Ski Jumping and Speedway.
At the time of writing, we found 33 different sports, as well as an impressive range of E-Sports including League of Legends, Counter-Strike, Warcraft 3, Brawl Stars, Starcraft 2, Valorant and DOTA 2. And more good news for E-Sports afficionados is that each game is individually featured on the left-hand side of the screen, rather than having to click on an E-Sports icon and find your chosen event from there.
There’s also a good number of worldwide political and entertainment markets and also special bets such as the first company to put a man on Mars, if you’ve run out of bets to place on Earth!
On the sports markets section of the home page, you will be able to find the event you wish to wager on by clicking on the list icon on the left-hand side and then clicking through to the match you are interested in. Or if you know the specific team or individual you wish to bet on you can just type that into the search box, which is always a useful addition!
You can also change the way the site is laid out by clicking “Classic” or “Modern” above the bet slip, with the difference between the two being that the modern layout has a white background with more graphics and less information on screen at any time, while the classic has a more basic black background with more going on!
This is a great feature but our only issue is that it is very easy to miss with the button being hidden away above the bet slip. We reckon an option as strong as this should certainly be featured more prominently on the home page.
There’s pros and cons to both layouts with our preference being for the classic one, for reasons we outline in the “Place Bets” section of this review, but it’s great to have the option of both and we would definitely encourage you to try them and see which is your favourite.
Football is the undisputed king when it comes to punter popularity and when we checked there were always over 100 outcomes to pick from in the big league, cup and tournament matches at home and abroad, and at least 50 in the smaller events.
We also had a look at some other popular sports such as golf, tennis and American football. And we were impressed when we saw over 12 markets available for a relatively minor golf tournament, over 100 for any NFL game and more than 30 on your average tennis match.
Odds at Bet Storm can be viewed in fractional, decimal and American formats, along with the less well-known pricing styles of Hong Kong, Malay and Indo, so all bases are covered there!
Our experience with new betting sites is that the vast majority tend not to prioritise competitive odds as they believe that it is a low priority for customers who are often new to the sports betting sphere. And that seems to be the case here as when we compared odds with their major rivals on a number of different sports for our Bet Storm review, we found them to be middle of the road.
We don’t necessarily disagree with that tactic as we believe that a bettor’s decision about whether they join a sportsbook is influenced far less by the odds than other factors such as welcome offers, range of markets and site layout. However we do think that the absence of odds boosts and “best odds guaranteed” offers, both of which are widely found on most other sportsbooks is a negative as that is far more important to punters such as ourselves.
The minimum wager at Bet Storm is £0.20, while the maximum bet varies depending on the price. After looking at a range of sports we discovered that the maximum win from any bet varied from wager to wager but was generally between the £2,000 & £7,000 mark, with the more well-known sports such as football tending to provide the best opportunities for bigger payouts.
And while we can certainly understand a new site limiting your winnings it means that the small percentage of high rollers among you or those looking for a mega acca win might need to look elsewhere! However, the bigger bettors will certainly be interested in the “Super Bet” button on the bet slip, which allows you to request an ad hoc bet that would exceed the maximum limit.
Given how popular in play betting has become, the live service provided by a sportsbook has been a key element of our research for this Bet Storm review. And when it comes to live wagering it’s clear that Bet Storm has continued the trend of ProgressPlay prioritising their in play service throughout their suite of sportsbooks.
At Bet Storm we found a good selection of sports to bet on at all times of the day and night, with over 100 markets on average across at least 10 sports. There are also a number of extra features that we haven’t seen on many other sportsbooks, including the option to create your own live “Multi View” in the centre of the screen with up to four live events.
And there’s even an option to filter events by country, as well as a handy calendar to see exactly what is coming up in the hours and days ahead.
At the time of writing this Bet Storm review, live streaming is not an option, but we found that every sport that you can bet on in play had a graphic showing the latest score, and when it came to football there was a live animation showing events as they happened, along with key stats such as shots on target, bookings, corner kicks and even dangerous attacks.
Cash out is available on many of the markets at Bet Storm, which will please punters who love the option of settling their wagers early. You just need to click on “My Bets” on the right-hand side of the home page and then if your bet is eligible you will see a green dollar sign next to it which is clickable.
You can also set your bet to auto cashout if it reaches a certain amount in play, which is a welcome addition that is normally only on spread betting sites.
Understanding the intricacies of betting can be a complicated business, especially for newcomers, and it is often made even more stressful because there is money involved! So an important element of our Bet Storm review has to be a good look at what help and information is available to bettors.
The Bet Storm support team are available via live chat seven days a week at all hours of the day, and you can access the help page by clicking on the speech bubble icon at the top of the screen to bring up the Bet Storm Support Centre.
You might be able to find the answer to your question on that page without having to go any further, but if not you can click on the “Chat With Us” button at the bottom of the page. A chatbot will be the first “voice” you encounter but you can soon send your virtual pal on their way and speak to a real person within a minute or so.
Now for the part of our Bet Storm review where we take you through the signing up process, which thankfully involves very few screens and clicks and allows you to get to the betting part pretty sharpish! The following step by step guide explains just how punters can sign up at the Bet Storm sportsbook:
With no mobile app available the only way to sign up to Bet Storm is by visiting their home page on your computer or mobile device.
Click the “PLAY NOW” button to open the first of three Bet Storm signup forms where you will be required to enter your email address, telephone number and your desired username. After that, check your phone as a code will be sent that you need to input on the next form, and then it’s time to fill in your full name, date of birth, address, occupation, the currency you wish to bet in and your marketing preferences.
The Bet Storm signup process does not involve providing any additional verification such as a driving license or passport, which wasn’t a surprise as not all sportsbooks request it, and it certainly reduced the amount of time from signing up to placing our first bet.
You have the option to deposit as part of the Bet Storm signup process but if you choose not to, when you’re ready to fund your account and take advantage of the Bet Storm welcome bonus for the first time you just need to log in and click on “Cashier” at the top of the screen. Select the “Deposit” option, before entering the amount you wish to add and then you can input your bank card details or login to your chosen e-wallet account. And don’t forget you need to deposit at least £10 with the Bet Storm bonus code BET30 to take advantage of the Bet Storm welcome bonus.
Looking at the classic version of the home page you’d be forgiven for thinking there’s a lot going on and it will be difficult to navigate. But fear not because we discovered quite quickly that placing a single bet is actually quite straightforward while selecting multiple bets is also a real breeze.
Once you click on a particular sport on the far left-hand side the specific markets will appear underneath, and then you can just select the one you want and all the matches related to that market will appear to the right, and then you just need to click on a match and the available markets will emerge to the right of that.
The real beauty of this layout is that all of these sections will remain in place, which makes going back and forth from match to match a real piece of cake. And placing a multiple bet was a real pleasure too as we could just click from match to match and market to market on the same page, rather than going back and forth.
Then you just need to click on the price of the outcome you wish to bet on and it will appear on the bet slip on the far right of the screen, which will stay permanently so you don’t have to keep clicking back on it. You can then add your stake and click “Place Bets”.
If you want to withdraw your winnings just click on “Cashier” at the top of the home page, click on “Withdrawal” and then pick which payment method you wish to credit your withdrawal to, add the amount and click “Withdrawal”. The minimum amount is £10 and you can withdraw to Visa debit cards, bank transfer, Paypal, Neteller or Skrill.
Ahead of your first withdrawal, you will be required to provide photo ID such as a passport or driving license, but that is standard practice for a lot of sportsbooks and is nothing to worry about.
However, withdrawals are subject to a £2.50 processing fee at Bet Storm which is a massive negative in our book, mainly because very few betting sites charge their customers to withdraw their winnings, but also due to the fact that the amount is set and not a percentage, so the people withdrawing £20 are being charged the same as those withdrawing £10,000!
For example, if you withdrew £20 you would lose 12.5% of it, but if you withdrew £200 it’s only 1.25%, which seems to penalise smaller stakes bettors more than the larger stakes ones, which is slightly unfair. And it may also discourage bettors from withdrawing small amounts, meaning they will place more bets that they may not have actually wanted to.
Another negative is that every withdrawal begins life as “pending” for three days, then it’s another day to process and anything from 1-7 days to hit your account, meaning you could feasibly be waiting 11 days to see your winnings, which is far too long as far as we’re concerned.
This part of the Bet Storm review is short and sweet as there is no Bet Storm app, and when we asked customer support whether there were any plans to create one, they were unable to tell us. However, looking at their sportsbook on your mobile device represents the experience of an app very well as it works effectively in portrait mode.
Our only small gripe is that the ever-present ticker showing advertisements at the top of the screen is pretty big and constantly having to scroll beyond it to get to the main home page becomes even more of an annoyance on the smaller mobile screen.
If you want to qualify for the “Bet £10, Get £30” Bet Storm welcome bonus you just need to enter the Bet Storm bonus code BET30 when depositing. In addition, some of their sports-specific welcome bonuses also require a code so it’s always worth checking their promotions page for more details.
Many other sportsbook offers also require promo codes, with the following being a selection of deals that can be found currently at some of the leading UK betting sites.
The table below provides a clear breakdown of the major payment methods currently available at Bet Storm. There are a lot of options but the lack of Apple Pay or Google Pay is a tiny negative as those payment methods are becoming increasingly popular.
Banking Method | Fees | Min Deposit | Min Withdraw | Withdraw times |
Debit Card | n/a | £10 | £10 | 7-11 days |
Skrill | n/a | £10 | £10 | 5 days |
Paypal | n/a | £10 | £10 | 7-11 days |
Bank Transfer | n/a | £10 | £10 | 6-8 days |
Paysafecard | n/a | £10 | n/a | n/a |
Neteller | n/a | £10 | £10 | 5 days |
Our in-depth look at Bet Storm has enabled us to create a comprehensive list of what we like and what we don’t like, so you can make as informed a decision as possible if you’re thinking of becoming a Bet Storm punter.
After a thorough review it’s time to reveal whether we think this brand new sportsbook has gone down a storm or is just a storm in a teacup! And the bottom line is that there is a lot to recommend about Bet Storm, particular when it comes to their range of sports and markets, the in play offering and a desktop site layout that makes placing bets a breeze.
However, the £2.50 withdrawal charge is certainly a negative, as are withdrawal times that don’t measure up well to most other betting sites, but we would certainly suggest you check out Bet Storm as there’s more than enough good things going on to make them a worthy addition to the sports betting market.

Good but pretty slow
I am an old user of Bet storm. I like this site because the site is trusted and user-friendly. I get benefits regularly and I enjoy betting here. Everything is good without their payment system. My withdrawal is not processed for 3 days now and chats support is also saying to wait and wait only. Is this how a company works delaying the withdrawals? So they should upgrade their withdrawal system. All other things are good on this site.
