How We Rank The Best Kenyan Betting Sites

There’s plenty of things that come into your mind when looking around for a betting site in Kenya. Especially in Kenya, where there is such an extensive choice of sites to choose from. We’ve picked out the best in the table above, but there are plenty more around. These selections weren’t simply made at random. Like everything else we do at Safe Betting Sites, they were the result of extensive research and fair, balanced analysis. To give you a little more insight, here’s a look at the most important factors we based our rankings on.

Ease of Use

One feature that often overlooked when choosing your next online bookmaker, is how easy it is to actually use the site. No matter what you are looking for, you should be able to find it. Whether it’s the sports league, betting market or even just updating your account details, navigating your way around the site should come naturally. Reliability also becomes a key factor, as if a site consistently crashes, it’s hard to keep betting there. One bookie we can always recommend for ease of use is WinaBet365.

Customer Safety

If you don’t trust a site and feel safe whilst using it, then it’s definitely time to look for a new bookie. You need to find a bookie that you feel can comfortably look after both your information and your funds. Also, having support options should you ever need to use them is another good sign. Options such as deposit limits and reality checks area always a sign of a safe and reliable bookie. Lately, betting with crypto has become a popular means of keeping both safety and anonymity.

Bonuses and Promotions

One thing that can easily set one bookmaker out from the rest is the strength of their bonuses and promotions. An enticing welcome offer can be the difference between initially signing up to a site or not. It’s not just welcome offer that has to stand out either. There needs to be regular free bets, deposit matches or price boosts all year round for existing customers.

Odds

Probably the first thing that everyone looks out for when choosing a new bookmaker is the available betting odds. It’s the most obvious thing that can set one bookie apart from another, as we as bettors, obviously want to get the best value possible when placing our bets. At SafeBettingSites, we are constantly monitoring the best avaiable betting odds in Kenya. As it stands, we think Chezacash has some of the best value odds on the market.

Looking for the best and safest betting sites in Kenya? Then great news – you are one hundred percent in the right place. We are here to recommend a handful of totally safe bookmakers that you need to use. If you want to bet on the African Cup of Nations, the World Rugby Sevens Series or Kenyan superstar athletes at any international track meet, then we’ll tell you where. We also outline special bet offers while providing crucial mini reviews of the best sites that Kenya has to offer such as 22Bet and 1xBet. Our betting tips and guides will also provide invaluable help. Use Airtel to load up your sports betting account with shillings and get betting now!

Best Bookmakers – A Closer Look at the Kenyan Top 6

Okay, so we have outlined what we consider to be the best sportsbooks in Kenya, but why do certain sites rank highly in the top list, and why do others rank low? Our determinations are based of years of experience, and of the knowledge acquired by our global collection of sports betting experts.

So you can get a closer feel of some of the best bookies in Kenya, here is a more detailed rundown of the five very best sports books currently available to sports betting punters in the country.

1. 22Bet - 100% up to KES 15,000

One of the top offshore bookies accepting players from Kenya is 22Bet. This sportsbook does eSports and what it calls cyber betting in a big way. There is such a comprehensive list of those things to gamble on that it puts all the competition in the shade. 22Bet has more than 20 sports to bet on with live in-play markets on sporting events at they happen. They even provide a mobile betting app you can download for smartphones and tablets with iOS and Android operating systems.

22Bet best betting sites in Kenya

With an 8% cashback deal available each week and an Accumulator of the Day, there are offers and promotions available to all customers. These include a weekly Reload Bonus. New customers receive a 100% first deposit match up to 15,000 KES upon joining 22Bet, and that’s a generous deal too. Airtel and m-Pesa are among African localised methods for deposits and withdrawals available on the sportsbook too. Sponsored data whilst using 22Bet means you can bet without eating into your allowance, another cool feature if you’re gambling on mobile in Kenya.

What we like:

  • 8% cashback deal for all
  • Weekly reload bonuses
  • Incredible eSports coverage
  • Over 20 sports to bet on
  • Mobile apps free to download

What we don’t:

  • Sportsbook can feel cluttered
  • Wagering requirements for welcome bonus
2. Chezacash - Karibu Free Bet Up To KSh 10,000

One of the newer entrants on our list is Chezacash.  As is customary in Kenya, you can both bet via SMS and also register your account at Chezacash using nothing but your mobile phone. You can also use services such as SMS and m-Pesa to transfer cash into your Chezacash account, increasing this sport betting site’s appeal.

chezacash - a native Kenyan sportsbook

The Chezacash sports betting platform is extremely easy to use and comes with some of the best odds on the market. And even if you are a new to sports betting you will find it user friendly and intuitive.

The markets are deep and leaves little to ask for, and along with a native knowledge about the needs and wants; this site delivers a good experience. The betting platform delivers over 2,000 live sports events to bet on at any given day, so the offering is quite sufficient for most markets.

If you are something of a versatile wagerer then you will be delighted when we tell you that the Chezabet site has casino, live casino and virtual sports options too.

What we like:

  • Easy-to-use betting platform
  • Decent welcome offer with excellent terms
  • Works incredibly well on mobile
  • Cash out and partial cash out available
  • Very fast withdrawals

What we don’t:

  • The welcome bonus could be bigger
  • Customer care can be slow to respond
3. WinaBet365 - 100% Deposit Bonus Up To $100

We’ve already have one well-known global brand in our top five list in Bet365, and now we are going to give you a brief lowdown on another – albeit not as well known. This sports betting site encompasses most forms of wagering – sports betting, casino games, slots, lotto, and even backgammon.

Winabet365 - a site with large betting coverage

Just like Bet365, the simplistic interface will not please everyone, but the software behind it is 100 percent sound as it has been created with sports betting in mind. The site may be a bit laggy at times, but still performs satisfactory. Betting at Winabet365 is easy and swift, and the menus unfold into clearly marked sub categories.

Winabet365 has local payment options as DusuPay but also offers well known wallets as NetEller and Skrill along with AstroPay and ecoPayz. The minimum deposit is between $5 for NetEller and no minimum with DusuPay.  The one thing we would appreciate is a live stream, as it would benefit the site immensely.

What we like:

  • Good payment offering
  • Easy to use interface
  • Decent guides to help you get the most from the site
  • Extensive number of markets at all times

What we don’t:

  • No live streaming
  • Site can be unresponsive at times
4. Mozzart - Great Bet Builder – Boost Your Potential Win

While we have mentioned some global brands in our top five list, and we have another one: Mozzart. This sports betting site, which was established in 2001, operates mainly in eastern Europe and has a physical presence with over 1,000 betting shops.

Mozzart - a punters dream with deep markets.

With over 250,000 odds on more than 1,600 events every day, this is one of the biggest sports betting sites you can find. The main focus is on soccer, but have deep knowledge and offering in most sports.

The promotions is another big hit with punters in Kenya, as they tend to run several interesting offers simultaneously. No fewer than 16 are at this moment on offer, spanning from Live Bet Cash Out to Gurumisha Ndege Uwahi Dinga Na Aviator where the players who hit the highest odds win a car.

And if you are interested in other forms of betting, you will find everything covered here – from live casino to lotto, virtuals and jackpots, with the local m-pesa added as payment option to boot.

What we like:

  • One of the bigger sportsbooks
  • Registration, payments and betting by SMS all available
  • Refer a friend for benefits for you both
  • Tiny minimum deposit
  • Cash out available on most bets

What we don’t:

  • Site runs slow at times
5. BetWinner - 100% up to KSh11,200
Another fairly recent addition to the list of available sports books in Kenya is BetWinner. This site has obviously done its homework as it has modelled itself on all the best sportsbooks in the world. Like 1xBet the ‘tradition’ of SMS betting in Kenya is maintained via the fact you can register at this site with nothing but a phone number. Certain payment methods though may be restricted to you unless you complete a full registration.

Betwinner kenya

Not that such a thing is important as if you have a decent phone then you can do you all you need to do without concerning yourself with the desktop site. You can of course add money to your betting account at BetWinner via Airtel or Safaricom’s M-Pesa.

The wagering process is a little more cumbersome than some of the other sites to make our top five but this should be no cause for concern. You  just might have to jump through one extra hoop, but you shouldn’t have any problems.

What we like:

  • Easy-peasy registration
  • Good-sized bonus
  • You can run your account in Kenyan shillings
  • Excellent apps for Android and iOS
  • Amazing statistical section

What we don’t:

  • Desktop site is not as good as the mobile experience
  • Not as many markets as some

How We Rank the Best Kenyan Sports Betting Sites

With new betting sites in Kenya now accompanying previously-established betting companies, punters are spoilt for choice. However, with so much choice, deciding which betting site to sign up to can be difficult. This is where we at safebettingsites step up to the plate. Our experts have done their research in order to deliver nothing but the best betting sites Kenya. So, let’s take a closer look as to just what separates the best Kenya betting sites from the not-s0-good:

Safety, Markets, Odds & Bonuses

  • Safety – First and foremost, our top ranked Kenyan betting sites are completely safe. Licensed by respected regulators and gambling authorities, bookies work hard to ensure that your personal details are secure at all times. This is achieved by having many tools in place, such as SSL encryption and firewalls. Note, you should only bet at active betting sites in Kenya with a proper licence, not at international betting sites without one.
  • Markets – The Kenyan market is increasingly diverse, meaning that bookies must ensure that markets cover the demands of punters. Whether it be football, basketball, athletics or others, pre-match, live betting and outright markets should be available. For markets in Kenya, you’ll do not better than WinaBet365.
  • Odds – This is a point often overlooked by betting customers. The odds found at Kenya betting sites will determine how much bettors make when successful. We have compared many different betting platforms, ensuring that value can be discovered regularly. Odds will likely be available to view in decimal and fractional formats, just like at 1xBet.
  • Bonuses – While odds are sometimes overlooked, perhaps too much emphasis is placed on sports betting sites in Kenya with bonus offers. However, there is no doubt that many punters are drawn to a betting site because of its welcome offer. Betting sites with bonus offers in Kenya are only worth signing up with if the rewards, qualifying requirements and terms and conditions are fair. We will outline the best betting sites in Kenya with free bets or bonuses later on, and you can expect to see BetWinner on our list.

Mobile, Usability, Support & Features

  • Mobile – To place bets today, mobile devices are increasingly used. Bettors normally constantly have their phone on them, making sportsbooks available at any time. As such, bookies must ensure that their sites are fully functional on all devices, whether it be iOS or Android. Some do so by developing mobile apps. Among the best betting apps in Kenya in 2024 you will find 22bet.
  • Usability – Whether operating on desktop or mobile, our top ranked Kenya betting sites all score highly when it comes to their usability. Achieved through modern designs and clever interfaces, users are able to quickly and easily access their favorite markets and features. Sportsbooks which are difficult to use are worth avoiding. 22Bet has a sports book that’s ideal for both beginners and advanced players.
  • Support – Customer support can often come in handy, even if you feel like you do not need it. The majority of leading bookmakers now offer support in a variety of ways. Phone, email, live chat and social media support is commonly found. On top of this, response times should be good too. Betway ranks highly, in our opinion, for customer support.
  • Features – Additional features can certainly enhance the overall betting experience. Live streaming, live chat support, betting sites with cash out and bet builders are among the most popular features for punters today. Check out Winabet365 for an impressive array of betting features.

Kenya Best Betting Tips – Get the Most From Your Betting

Sports bettors in Kenya are always looking for betting tips, and we are here to provide you with the best betting tips around so you can get the most from your sports betting at sites such as 22bet, 1xbet and BetWinner. You want betting tips? Then here’s some practical advice on how to get started:

Bonuses and Promo Codes are There to be Taken Advantage of

One of the best aspects of being a complete newb when you find a new betting site in Kenya is that the site will often offer you a bonus as long as you place a bet using their desktop site or app (and here you can find a list of the best betting apps in Kenya in 2024). This will kickstart your betting career and give you a taste of the site before you start filling up your sports betting account with shillings.

Be careful though – such offers come with terms and conditions that you really need to be aware of. They are not there to catch you out, but to make sure that the sports betting site’s offer cannot simply be taken advantage of with no risk to the customer. We champion safe betting sites with bonus deals, so grab your bonus, review the T&Cs and get betting!

Bet With Your Brain, Not Your Gut

Many of us are attracted to outlandish odds. People play the Mylotto Kenya despite they are more likely to be hit by an asteroid than actually win the big prize. As the truth is – outlandish odds are only offered by sports books in Kenya for events that are unlikely to happen. You will lose consistently if you constantly seek out huge odds in the hope that a massive underdog will win.

Sports bettors who are consistent winners achieve success because mainly, they back the favourite. Yes, the odds are less attractive, but the favourite typically wins any sporting contest between 65 and 75 percent of the time. Winning small amounts consistently is much better than forlornly hoping for that one big win. You can use betting prediction sites to help out.

Betting sites with cash out are excellent in this regard too, as you can claim your (reduced) winnings early if you feel your winning bet may fail.

Become an Expert

One of the best betting tips in Kenya you will ever hear is the need for a sports bettor to really understand what they are betting on. There is no point – for example – betting on the NFL if you don’t even know which New York teams (Mets, Jets, Yankees, Giants, Nicks, Red Bulls) are actually American football teams (it’s the Giants and the Jets).

If you have a love of a particular sport then use that love to place your sporting bets, but try and expand your knowledge so you max out your betting options. If you love soccer and the Kenyan Premier League, try and learn more about popular global soccer leagues like the EPL, La Liga, Serie A, Ligue One, the Bundesliga and MLS.

Manage Your Bankroll

For the final entry in our list of the best betting tips in Kenya, we are going to explain to you that the main reason people become unstuck with sports betting in Kenya is that they do not practice good bankroll management. Such people simply raise the amount of money they use to bet if they suffer a losing streak, and end up losing far more than they win.

Successful sports bettors practice flat betting (betting with the same stake no matter how often they win or lose) and good bankroll management. Say you have worked out you have KSh10,000 per month free which you can safely lose without it affecting other areas of your life. Your ‘flat bet’ rate should be 1/100th of your bankroll, which is KSh100. This should NEVER change, no matter how well or how badly your betting is going.

If your bankroll dwindles to nothing over the month then you need to wait until next month before you start betting again. If you manage to double your bankroll you should also stop betting, withdraw your winnings and save the KSh10,000 remaining for next month. Choose a site from our list of betting sites in Kenya and practice good bankroll management.

Active Betting Sites in Kenya Sign Up Offers

As we mentioned above, bonuses and free bets are offered by Kenyan betting sites in an attempt to attract new customers. While generally appealing generous, bonuses are only worth utilizing if they are worth the time, effort and investment. Popular welcome offers include matched deposit bonuses, free bets and no deposit bonuses. With that being said, the following are our favourite sign up offers at active betting sites in Kenya. These three promotions have been selected because of their reward and realistic T&Cs.

Kenya Betting Sites: Betting Markets Available to Kenyan Punters

We have already alluded to the fact that punters in Kenya and betting prediction sites follow an increasing number of sports. While the likes of football, rugby, tennis and basketball remain the most popular, a host of additional events are now wagered upon. So, let’s take a closer look at some of the most popular sports to bet on in Kenya today:

Football

football

Football has long been considered the national sport in Kenya. This is despite the lack of success of the national team, the Harambee Stars. The English Premier League and other major European leagues and tournaments are followed closely. All of our recommended Kenyan betting sites deliver a large number of football markets. Popular markets include 1×2, over/under goals, first goalscorer and draw no bet. Football sportsbooks in Kenya today face massive competition. Betting sites with cash out are popular with football bettors too.

Athletics

Kenya has a long association with athletics, long distance running in particular. The high altitude in Kenya means that many world class runners are developed. Kenya has produced a host of Olympic gold medalists over the years, including the legendary Eliud Kipchoge. While bets on amateur athletics are not readily available, many Kenyan betting sites will cover major meets.

Cricket

cricketbat

Cricket is an emerging sport in Kenya, with the game now being both played and watched by millions. Test, One Day and T20 matches at international and domestic levels are available to bet on today. Popular cricket markets on our list of bookmakers in Kenya include to score a century, leading wicket taker, method of dismissal and match result.

Basketball

Basketball is another leading sport in Kenya, especially with the younger generation. Previously, many up and coming players would move to the US in order to compete in college basketball. The NBA and domestic KBF Premier League are regularly bet on. Pre-match, in-play and outright markets can be found. Popular betting options include total points, quarter winner and highest scoring player.

Rugby

rugby

The Kenyan men’s rugby union team is ranked 32nd in the world, while their sevens counterparts are ranked inside the top 20. Such figures demonstrate how popular the sport now is. Rugby leagues and tournaments from around the world are available at Kenyan sports books. Popular markets here include total points, handicaps and half time/full time.

Volleyball

Especially for women, volleyball has long been a major sport in Kenya too. The Kenyan national team has won nine Continental Championship titles in the last 20 years. Volleyball is an increasingly popular betting sport too, with many sportsbooks having added it over recent years.

How to Choose the Best Kenyan Betting Site

kenyan betting sites

While our experts have conveniently ranked the top sportsbooks available to Kenyan punters today, the ultimate decision is yours. So, before deciding on which bookmaker to sign up with, there are a number of steps that will help you. We recommend carrying out the following actions before completing the registration process:

  1. Read Reviews – Here at safebettingsites, we have tried and tested many of the top betting sites in Kenya. While to beginners each can appear to be very similar, online bookmakers all come with their own pros and cons. So, be sure to check out our bookmaker reviews. Such pages give an in-depth breakdown of how operators perform. With no affiliations within the industry, our reviews can be treated as completely trustworthy and up to date.
  2. Visit Bookmakers – Unlike at some online casinos and gambling sites offering casino games and jackpots, there is no ‘free to play’ options when it comes to sports betting. As a result, another important step is to visit a potential betting site for yourself. In doing so, bettors will be able to gain a better understanding of the markets and features that would be available to them. It also enables potential customers to see how easy it is to navigate around.
  3. Look at Feedback – Feedback from existing or past customers can be priceless. While in most cases it is likely to be negative, feedback can also make it clearer as to which bookies are worth avoiding. It is generally easy to find feedback online.

Betting Odds in Kenya – Explained

The odds are the chances or probability of something happening. The odds of a coin falling on heads when tossed is 2/1, for example. There are two possible outcomes, of which ‘heads’ is one. That means on average you will need to toss a coin twice to see a head. This does not play out in real life if you toss a choice twice, but the more tosses you perform, the closer the odds will come to 2/1.

Betting odds in Kenya are set by expert risk assessors. Say Italy are playing Spain in an international football match. The assessors will look at the form of the two teams and make a decision based on that and other factors. They may decide that if the match was to take place 100 times, Italy would win sixty games, Spain would win thirty games and ten games would be a draw. That would give odds of Italy 100/60 or 5/3, Spain 100/30 or 10/3, and a draw 100/10 or 10/1. These would be quite generous odds though – risk assessors manipulate the odds so that they slightly favour the sports book.

Traditional Format

Odds in the form ‘5/3’ are known as fractional odds and are now viewed as being a little old-fashioned. If you bet KSh100 at 5/3 on Italy winning your winnings would be (5 x 100)/3 or KSh166.67. You would also add on your stake, so your total money back would be KSh266.67. Decimal odds are an increasingly popular format. You convert from fractional to decimal by expressing the fractional odds as a decimal and adding one. So, in this case it’s (5/3)+1 = 2.67. When calculating your money back you multiply your stake by the decimal odds, and you do not have to add your winnings back on.

NOTE: Since 2021, in Kenya 20 percent of any stake you place for a bet goes straight to the treasury as tax.

Fixed Odds Betting

Most sports books, such at WinaBet365, offer fixed odds betting. This is where the price of an event is ‘fixed’ (i.e. ‘set’) but it can change depending on many potential circumstances. When you place your bet, the odds at the time you placed the bet are fixed and those are the odds you use to calculate your winnings when and if you are successful. If, for example, you bet KSh100 on West Ham United to win the EPL at 100/1 (or 101.00) at the start of the season then you would win back KSh10,100 no matter how the odds change throughout the term.

The alternative to fixed odds betting is exchange betting where punters exchange bets at specific prices courtesy of an exchange betting platform. Currently, there are no betting exchanges available to sports bettors in Kenya.

Football Betting Odds

Leading active betting sites in Kenya such as 22Bet offer football betting odds on football contests and competitions all across the globe. As well as the Kenyan Premier League, there are sporting betting opportunites offered on all the major European Leagues (EPL, La Liga, Serie A, Ligue One, Bundesliga) plus international competitions such as the African Cup of Nations and the FIFA World Cup.

Tennis Betting Odds

Tennis betting odds, as offered by sites such as 1xBet in Kenya, are usually extremely competitive and you could gain plenty of big wins if you know enough about the world’s most popular racquet sport. As coverage is available on the four annual majors in France, the US, Australia and the UK (Wimbledon), plus ATP (mens) and WTA (womens) events.

How to Place a Bet at a Betting Site in Kenya

Once you have opened up an account at one of our recommended top betting sites in Kenya you will be ready to place your first bet or wager. If you have never placed a sports bet before then there is no need to get nervous, as we are here to show you how, step-by-step.

Step 1:

You can use any popular method to get money into your sports betting account. If you are using Airtel, then head to the sports book’s cashier and choose Airtel as your payment method. Follow the easy steps to transfer money into your wagering account.

Here at Odibets we are going to make a KSh100 deposit into our account using M-Pesa (Odibets only accepts M-Pesa deposits as it is basically a mobile-only site, although it can be used on desktop too).

Step 2:

Now, use the navigation tools on the site to find an event you are interested in. Most bookmakers have navigation tools that are extremely easy to use. Find your event and have a look at the odds. If there is a number to the right of the fixture or event then this means that more markets are available beyond ‘1×2’. Click on the number if you wish to explore more markets.

At Odibets we are going to bet on Manchester United to beat Villarreal in the Europa Cup final. We click on the odds of ‘1.94’ in order to transfer our betting wish to our betslip.

Step 3:

You can start to place a specific bet once you have located the odds of the outcome you want to bet on. Clicking on the odds should transfer the event and odds to your betting slip, which is usually on the left-hand side of the screen. Select your stake, confirm your bet and hope that your prediction is accurate.

As you can see with our example we have transfered ‘Manchester United Win’ to our betting slip, and set our stake at KSh100. We would win KSh175.2 if Manchester United are successful, which is KSh94 in winnings and Ksh80 which is our stake minus the 20 percent betting stake tax.

Payment Methods Available to Punters in Kenya

betting sites payments kenyaUnlike other currencies in Africa, Kenyan Shilling is not widely accepted. However, this should not put punters off completely. For those sites that do not accept this currency, a host of alternatives will be on offer, including US Dollars and Euros. In terms of payment options, both traditional and modern methods are generally available. Credit cards and debit cards are accompanied by a small number of eWallets, while it is also possible to deposit in store with some domestic bookies. The table below provides a breakdown of the payment methods found at Kenyan bookmakers, including their deposit and withdrawal limits and fees.

Visa and MasterCard

Many sports betting sites – such as WinaBet365 – in Kenya will accept Visa and MasterCard payments without any issues. Deposits via these payment methods are usually instant, but withdrawals can take between three and five days. Most sites do not charge frees for Visa or MasterCard deposits and withdrawals.

Airtel

Thanks to its association with SMS betting, basically Airtel remains the number one payment method in Kenya for sports bettors. All you need to make an online payment via Airtel in Kenya is the PayBill number of the sports book you are depositing too. For example, the PayBill number for 1xBet in Kenya is simply 1XBET. You will also need to supply your phone number, and fees are likely to be involved.

PayPal, Skrill and Neteller

Although slightly lagging behind the rest of the world when it comes to eWallets, an increasing number of sports books in Kenya are beginning to accept eWallet deposits and withdrawals. Currently though, William Hill is the only sports book in Kenya to accept PayPal payments. As for other eWallets, you may find sites that accept Skrill and Neteller, but hardly any do.

Safaricom/M-Pesa

Safaricom or M-Pesa (which is what Safaricom calls their SMS-based payment system) works in an identical fashion to Airtel, and if a sports betting site in Kenya accepts Airtel payments, then the chances are that it will accept Safaricom deposits and withdrawlals too. Again, you just need the Safaricom PayBill number which – as an example at Betwinner – is 998989.

Mobile Sports Betting Sites in Kenya

Mobile betting has never been as big as now. This is certainly the case in Kenya, with a large proportion of sports bets being placed on phones and tablets. Bookies who fail to cater for mobile betting customers are destined to fail themselves. Sportsbooks are generally accessible through all mobile internet browsers, with a similar design and layout being utilized. However, some bookies will go one step further in developing their own betting apps. Such apps are available on iOS and Android devices in most cases, with links being found on the App Store and Google Play respectively. However, not all will be available to Kenyan residents, so be sure to check before looking to download.

Online Gambling Law in Kenya

Online betting in Kenya is regulated by the Betting, Lotteries and Gaming Act of 1966. This also led to the establishment of the Betting Control and Licensing Board, known as the BCLB. The BCLB is in control of all gambling in Kenya, including sports betting, casino games, poker and bingo. Online betting sites in Kenya have been regulated since back in 2013, with domestic operators having to hold the relevant license in order to accept bets legally. In order to try and promote responsible gambling in Kenya, the BCLB works hard to protect minors. Those who break the rules in this area will face hefty fines.

To keep yourself safe, use any of the top betting sites in Kenya with a BCLB licence. Avoid international betting sites without one.

Is sports betting legal in Kenya?

Simply put, yes. Online sports betting in Kenya is regulated by the Betting Control and Licensing Board. Meanwhile, punters are also free to take advantage of offshore bookmakers, which are licensed by other respected authorities.

How can I deposit funds to my betting account in Kenya?

A good number of payment methods are available at Kenyan bookmakers today. Visa, Mastercard, Airtel, Safaricom, PayPal, Neteller and Skrill are perhaps the most popular. Each comes with its own deposit and withdrawal limits, as well as potential fees.

What are the most popular sports to bet on in Kenya?

How do I know that new betting sites in Kenya are reliable?

In order to be legal and trustworthy, a Kenyan betting site must hold a license from a respected gambling authority. Any betting site recommended at safebettingsites can be regarded as being reliable.

Why should I not bet at international betting sites?

Because they will not have a BCLB licence. If you come unstuck at the site, such as them cancelling your account without refunding your money, then no one will help you.
