Although 2022 has seen the first-ever drop in mobile game users, gaming apps continue bringing huge profits for their developers. According to data presented by Safe Betting Sites, five top-grossing Google Play games hit $130 million in monthly revenue.

Coin Master and Candy Crush Saga Lead in Player Spending

The popular Moon Active gaming app Coin Master has been among the highest-grossing mobile games for years. Thanks to in-app purchases and microtransactions, the game generated nearly $48 million in revenue, ranking as the highest-grossing Google Play game in September. Moreover, the AirNow and Air Magic data show its nine-month revenue hit close to $650 million.

With $38.6 million in player spending, Candy Crash Saga ranked as the second highest-grossing title that month. However, the puzzle gaming app has enjoyed its popularity among both Android and iPhone users this year, bringing it nearly $760 million in eight-month revenue, and ranking as the fourth highest-grossing mobile game worldwide.

Statistics show Roblox grossed $18.2 million from player spending and ranked as the third most profitable Google Play game in September. Royal Match and Garena Free Fire: 5th Anniversary round the top five list, with $12.3 million and $12 million in revenue, respectively.

Stumble Guy and Stick War Most Downloaded Games

Although Coin Master, Candy Crush Saga, and Roblox lead in player spending, the three games were not even in the top five when looking at the number of downloads. Statistics show Stumble Guys was the most-downloaded gaming app in the Google Play Store in September. The casual game generated more than 17.5 million downloads from Android users. Stick War: Hero Tower Defense was the second-most popular gaming app title, with over 15 million downloads from Google Play users.

School Party Craft ranked third with over 11.1 million downloads that month. Save the Dog, and Subway Surfers round the top five list with 10.6 million and 10.1 million, respectively. Statistics show the five most popular Google Play games hit nearly 65 million monthly downloads.
