The mobile gaming industry continues breaking records, with revenues and the number of users reaching all-time highs. Although the competition in the market is stronger than ever, some gaming titles continue ranking high in Google Play and App Store, and Homescapes and Gardenscapes are certainly on that list.
According to data presented by Safe Betting Sites, the two mobile games developed by Playrix are close to reaching a new benchmark, with almost one billion in combined lifetime downloads.
Gardenscapes and Homescapes More Downloaded than Other Top Four Playrix Games Combined
Just a few months after its release in August 2016, the free-to-play gaming app, Gardenscapes, became a global hit with millions of players worldwide each month.
The success of the game has led to a spin-off called Homescapes, released a year later. Both titles are match-three puzzle games and feature the same protagonist, Austin the Butler. In-app purchases allow players to buy fictional currency to gain the ability to retry levels or get power-ups.
Although both games hit an impressive number of downloads since their release, Gardenscapes tops Playrix’s list of the most popular games. According to Statista and AppMagic data, since its launch five years ago, Gardenscapes has amassed almost 493 million installs worldwide, 2.5 million more than the second-ranked Homescapes.
Township ranked as the third most popular title of the Russian game developer, with 363 million in lifetime downloads. Fishdom and Manor Matters close the top five list, with 306 million and 37.2 million downloads, respectively.
Nearly $4 Billion in Lifetime Revenue
Besides ranking as the two most downloaded Playrix mobile games, Gardenscapes and Homescapes also lead in lifetime revenue. Statistics show that in May, Gardenscapes` lifetime IAP revenue jumped over $2bn, far above any other mobile game developed by the Russian gaming company. Around 15% of that value or $300 million was generated in the first half of 2021.
Homescapes generated around $300 million less than that, with its lifetime revenue reaching $1.7bn in May. Township and Fishdom players both spent over $868 million on an in-app purchase, ranking third and fourth on the list. Manor Matters and Wildscapes follow, with $33.5 million and $29 million in lifetime revenue, respectively.
